Floating divisions are only available as organ settings, not general settings. They don't have a "for all organs" option yet.
Martin knows we would like that.

Re: Pedal Couplers (Divide)
Not done in CODM, but I tested a limited pedal divide scheme that works using floating divisions. The upper pedals play on a manual when that route is selected. I use one piston to go to route 1, 2, 3, 4 and another to return to route 1. Set up two floating divisions splitting the pedalboard, for ...

Re: Pedal Couplers (Divide)
The pedal divide function I learned (in US) played pedal stops and coupled manuals as usual below the split point, but only played any divisions coupled to the pedal above the split point. In this interpretation, the upper range just doesn't play any pedal stops. I'm sure the other two ...

Re: Installing organ on new hard-drive
It's not a custom install of an organ, it's running the Hauptwerk Installer program again -- the one you downloaded from hauptwerk.com for your Hauptwerk version and either Mac or Windows. Select Custom when prompted, and pick your directories. The installer will move files. Please read the section ...

Re: Launchpad Use
I found it easiest to jab LP buttons when it's on my music stand beside the music, though they can be mounted on a monitor stand. I always use the same button layout, mapped to HW master registration buttons used in very consistent ways, instead of any per-organ assignments. Same for pistons, of ...

Re: Launchpad Use
I've used LP Minis in the past because I don't have room for a second touchscreen. The pads on a LP can be assigned to Hauptwerk pistons and various menu functions such as recording start, stop, etc. Since they can light with different colors, I mapped pads to stops and couplers (via reversibles as ...

Re: Performance Hauptwerk IX
One change in HW9 is to make not binding threads to cores the default, where binding was the default in previous versions. You might want to tick the option to bind threads, if it's currently off, and see if that helps your load times without causing audio glitches. (EDIT: Not related. See Martin's ...

Re: "Essential" samplesets
I know the feeling. I'm 68, but my right ear has been missing the high frequency range since childhood, and it rattles internally when subjected to loud sounds. Back of the church every time.

Re: Trouble loading some organs on IX
The first message is trying to write a diagnostic file and says your C: drive was out of space, i.e. full. The second message is why a diagnostic file was being written, I'll bet, and also may be because your disk was full. Your disk was full during the operation. Delete stuff. Empty the recycle bin ...

Windows 24H2
I upgraded Windows from 22H2 to 24H2 today and retested polyphony on Hauptwerk 9. Used Nancy fully loaded with a MIDI recorded dynamic polyphony test that I've been using since HW6. This is an i9-12900K. I had to go through performance tuning for realtime audio again, of course. The Windows upgrade ...

Re: "Essential" samplesets
They're both really good samplesets, though Redcliffe has more detail in its samples. I like the mic distances better on St. David's, with a milder overall sound, where Redcliffe is harder and brighter. Technically, SMR is the better sampleset based on sample quality and features, and is arguably a ...

"Essential" samplesets
For a Winter cleaning, I've been simplifying my Hauptwerk environment to spend more time playing and less time configuring a lot of organs whenever I want to make some changes to things like piston schemes and audio routing. Out of about 80 organs, I'm down to the following ones that I use the most ...
