Re: I need bigger a disc

Take it to a PC repair place, and have them add the hard drive. At least that will solve the tech side of it! You'll have two drives show up, but it will leave your current installation intact. You can delete your cache files, and that will give you some time, but then you'll have to generate new ...

Re: Drawstops and pistons -- where to start?

The best is to contact Phoenix if they exist in Ireland and see what they have to say. The pistons sound like a loose/intermittent connection, and should be easily fixed with a bit of contact cleaner (but it can be more complex, I admit). The stop magnets are more concerning. Usually when you push ...

Re: Maximizing screen real estate

It's not desirable, but that's how the program works. Personally I don't think it's a big deal. Every program has limitations.

Re: Maximizing screen real estate

Like Martin and I said, it's because of the resizing. Resize the background so it won't have to be zoomed, and the problem will be solved. I ran into the same issue, and that's how I solved it.

Re: Maximizing screen real estate

The CODM document that comes with Hauptwerk talks about this a bit, I think, Hauptwerk needs to leave a portion at the bottom that will be black for the standard buttons like the general cancel, so the true "available" aspect ratio is somewhat wider and shorter than what it seems. Next, Hauptwerk is ...

Re: HW Auto detune? Still works?

This is interesting. I remember the thread but not the utility. Of course, it's possible to do this yourself using a random number generator, some mathematical operations, and physically adjusting the sliders. When I make CODM organs with custom mixtures, I usually detune the mixtures as well ...

Re: Piston Interaction

I feel like I answered this question before, perhaps on another forum? One point is to make sure everything is set up properly. Sometimes you can accidentally configure the wrong thing to be triggered by accidentally pushing it. Another point is that if your console has its own combination system ...

Re: Different Sound Carts

Maybe a tiny bit. Sometimes certain interfaces sound "warmer" or "cooler" than others, and some have better detail than others, or a lower noise floor, but by and large, you should get pretty close to the same output.

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia

This might be the "permissions" problem from Hauptwerk past rearing its ugly head. Basically, sometimes Hauptwerk has permission to access a file, sometimes it doesn't. OS updates don't recognize file permissions created by earlier OS versions, so they don't let Hauptwerk access certain files. To ...

Re: Ordering prebuilt custom PC from online companies

I've bought electronic parts from Newegg. They do a pretty good job. It gets here fast, it's well packed, they have a good selection. I've had many Dell computers, but I got fed up with them when I wanted to upgrade the RAM, but the only RAM that worked was a "proprietary" one that couldn't be ...

Re: York!!!

Haha, that's Hill enough for me! I have the Berlin Burton and Peterborough, and neither of those are perfect Hill either (though Peterborough is pretty close). The Burton organ is quite changed from how he left it, but you still get the nice personality of some stops. I don't think there's any Hill ...

Re: York!!!

I think it will be ok. It doesn't need the Chancel recordings. Close, medium and far are good enough, like most sets with long reverb. All I care about is it's another Hill! You can never have too many Hill sample sets.

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience

Thanks Martin, I'm sure you're right! I like the 20 bit though, so I'll take the risk. Surely 15 GB of RAM should be enough for the OS! Back when I was on Hauptwerk 4 Basic, I only had 4 GB of RAM. Somehow, I'd manage to run St. Eucaire on 16 bit (only the close perspective). I remember it was ...

Re: inspired acoustics "Urakami" and "Mannheim" Reverb Settings

I don't have these sets, but I do have the PAB by inspired acoustics. Not all organs need to use convolution reverb. If you feel an organ needs convolution reverb, you can add it provided you have the IR (impulse response). Usually the best is to use the original acoustics if they are available ...
