A quick Question?
When I setup another HW "Alternate', can I setup another organ console by copying from my Main HW configuration ( using the same sample set, combinations, etc ) BUT... have a new audio configuration setup that has completely different rank routing, audio channel names, mixer settings etc.
thank you
Wayne

Re: SETTING UP ANOTHER H.W. ALTERNATE ( ALT 2 )
Hello Wayne,
(For my own reference, I see from iLok's system that you're using Hauptwerk v7.)
Installed organs and combinations are inherently shared between all four configurations anyway, whilst all settings (general settings, and organ settings, including all audio routing and voicing, and all MIDI settings, etc.) are stored separately for each configuration, i.e. are independent between the configurations.
Hence even if you didn't copy anything between the configurations you would be able to load an already-installed organ in a different configuration, and your combinations for it would already be there. You would only need to configure settings (such as MIDI settings, and audio/routing settings, and voicing).
If you do want to copy all settings (including all MIDI settings, and audio/routing settings, and voicing, and preferences, for example -- you can't copy just a subset) from one configuration to another, the "Backing up and restoring your settings and data: Copying your settings from one configuration to another on the same computer" section in the Hauptwerk user guide (pages 34-36 in the v7 version) covers how to do it.
Note also that Hauptwerk v5+ has 'mixer presets' which allow you to have multiple sets of mixer buses and groups, and to apply different ones to different organs (without needing to use more than one configuration). v8+ also has 'rank routing/voicing presets' which also allow you to have multiple sets of rank routing and voicing for any given installed organ (without needing to use more than one configuration).
