Clarification on "All Organs"

I am just setting up my V9 HW. My understanding is that the first organ you setup becomes the settigs for all organs unless subsequently overwritten. I would like to setup all my organs with a default with floating divisions. Should that with floating divisions.

Floating divisions are only available as organ settings, not general settings. They don't have a "for all organs" option yet.

Martin knows we would like that.

To add to Mark's reply, the following two screens are always per-organ (although as Mark mentioned, optionally allowing the first of them to be global is logged as an enhancement request):

- "Settings | Organ settings: Floating division MIDI keyboards (for this organ only)".

- "Settings | Organ settings: Keyboards" (via which one maps the routes to virtual keyboards).

However, the pistons/buttons for changing which route is current can be auto-detected either on a global (i.e. 'for all organs') basis, or per-organ ('for this organ') basis. (If you have the "Settings | General: Preferences | Simplify | Only allow global (not per-organ) MIDI/key triggers for master pistons and menu functions" option ticked then they are always auto-detected on a global basis.)

I need help to setup HW to enable me to setup firstly the keyboard settings to apply to all organs. I have spent over an hour with the manuals and cant find it. Can somebody direct me where to look.

Keyboard settings are for one organ only. Same for expression and crescendo pedals.

If you right-click on a thing on the Hauptwerk screen or touch menu, you should see whether it has a "for all organs" auto-detect option or not.

In HW8, if you right clicked on a keyboard, you were offered either setting all keyboards or just that organ. I think the same thing is expected in HW9, if I can set it up right

I think you must be misremembering that -- in Hauptwerk v4-v9 (including v8) MIDI settings for keyboards have always been solely per-organ, with no ability to configure them 'for all organs'. Keyboard settings are/were per-organ because different sample sets (e.g. different sizes/styles of organs, and from different producers) have different divisions/keyboards, and in different orders.

Perhaps you're confusing it with the route selection buttons for floating division MIDI keyboards, which can be auto-detected 'for all organs'. (MIDI input to floating division MIDI keyboards themselves is solely per-organ, although we do have an enhancement request logged for potentially also allowing that 'for all organs'.)
