Documentation language translations: POST THEM HERE

Post by münsterorganist »

Dear Michel, Brett,
the documentation for HW 5 it is for all off us difficult to understand, because it's very extensive. Some things are identical to HW 4, but the new things are for native speakers difficult to read and understand. All the more for other languages. It is not possible, to publish your documentation in google chrome? There is an automaticly translation and it would be a considerable relief to understand better the new functions. Best regards from Germany..

Concerning organs and the MIDI system, automatic translations are very poor, often inaccurate and almost always incomprehensible. One can't trust them :(

Dear Leblanc,
Thank you for your opinion. That's right, that automatic translations do not exactly reflect everthing, but it is a good help for many people ,to understand the meaning first.
The inconsistencies can then be easily changed. In the mother tongue you can understand the connections better. Best regards.

A new version of „eorganum“, a german translation of Hauptwerk‘s documentation is to be released in February 2020:

Hello!

This is a great idea. I spoke to Brett and he thinks this is great as well. In the past he ran into problems because things become out of date so quickly.

So we will support this! But we can't make it official MDA documents.

I received a very nice email from Uwe offering to help in German.

How can I help you make this work best for you all?

Thank you so much!

Dear Michelle,
thank you for the offer. The HW4 already has the eorganum in German language. It would be nice to have n this moment a translation only for the innovations like the audiomixer or convolution reverberation.
I' just hearing about another problem. Ilok manager must also be installed on the PC that is running HW?
Working through the now extensive tweets in English is tedious and confusing, somthing news every days.
Help would be nice.

Hello münsterorganist,

Yes -- having iLok License Manager installed is necessary for using Hauptwerk v5 (but you don't necessarily need an Internet connection to your Hauptwerk computer). Please see also the v5 release notice and user guide for the full prerequisites and list of changes: https://www.hauptwerk.com/documentation/

My FAQ thread here also covers lots of things that it's important to be aware of: http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833

(Also, known bugs are listed here: http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17970 .)

This forum thread also discusses how to use Hauptwerk on a computer that doesn't have an Internet connection: http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17967

(Also, since we'll have limited support over the Christmas-New Year period, my advice would be to hold off on actually installing v5 during that period, in case any help/advice is needed with the process.)
Best regards, Martin.

Dear Michelle,
First a happy new year and good luck for 2020.
Yes, I would recommend a new section. And first happy to have a translation for the new Audio mixer.
Best regards.

If it can help French speaking users, my unofficial French translation of the 'HauptwerkInstallationAndUserGuide' (for Hauptwerk V) can be dowloaded on my website.

Tell me if you find anything wrong there and I will correct it.

No se si hay todavía alguna guía de Hauptwerk en Español. Pienso hacer una, pero me va a tardar un tiempo. Lo publicaré aquí ya que esta terminado.
