HW doesn't start anymore

Hi everybody. My Hauptwerk (version 4.2) doesn't start anymore at all : no window, no message, nothing. Just the hourglass cursor which appears during 2 seconde. I tried to reinstall, but it doesn' change anything. Can you help ?

I'd do a disk scan and repair first to see if your drive is failing. Then check if the HW4 dongle is seen by the operating system (Device Manager if Windows); if not, reinstall the HASP Sentinel driver for your OS before installing HW again.

Please post your results and computer specs here and maybe we can spot something useful.

Thank you, I will do this. I can precise that I have this issue just with Hauptwerk. Concerning the dongle : I removed it and I had a message saying that the dongle wasn't there. I plugged it back, but same issue : nothing
Scan & repair didn't report any isssue.
If I reinstall HW, will I loose all my organs settings ?

Maybe you should try to uninstall and then reinstall HW. I'm not sure how to find the cause of this, but that could rule out corrupted files in the Hauptwerk installation that might prevent starting.

Reinstalling HW doesn't require reinstalling your samplesets, and will only reset your settings if you choose those options. Your user settings should be in your last automatic backup so you can restore them if necessary using File | Restore.

I don't see any clues in your PC specs. What's your hard drive?

What do you call "user settings" ? I hope that it is not organs combinations and other settings relatives to the organs because I have a lot of them...
My hard drive for Hauptwerk is a SSD HS-SSD-E100 1024G (1Tb)

Maybe the PC is just updated from W11 23H2 to 24H2 and it's the first time you start HW after that update.
In that case it could be that the audio driver is not recognized by HW.
Try to reinstall the driver software.

Have you looked at the Windows event log, this might give you a clue about what is going on?

Find the most recent Hauptwerk Log file and look at the last few entries in that. Check if HW is recording a thing in that file. You should see the time/date of the startup of Hauptwerk. Entries in the log may provide some information.

Briefly (since we no longer support Hauptwerk v4), and to add to others' replies:

Hauptwerk queries the audio and MIDI drivers from the OS when it launches. If an audio driver hangs while it's being queried then it will cause Hauptwerk to hang upon launch. Perhaps an audio driver was updated since you last launched Hauptwerk successfully, causing the problem. If so, try disabling/uninstalling any audio drivers that you don't need, and updating the drivers for any that you *do* need.

that's the case. Windows recently updated to 24H2. I'm gonna have a look to my UR22MK2 driver...
